C-9 Engines ,oil out the breather

Yahoo Message Number: 16475
Owner 2005 Inspire. The CAT C-9 engine is mounted at a 5 degree angle, therefore the CAT manual on oil quantity is incorrect. If your engine compartment is getting messy with oil fumes from the breather, support at CC has a fix. Less oil in the crankcase and a recalibration of the dip stick. THEY NEED TO GET AN OWNERS MANUAL CORRECTION OUT TO THE CUSTOMERS.

YOU CAN ALWAYS SPOT A WELL INFORMED MAN-- HIS VIEWS ARE THE SAME AS YOURS.

Nothing new about recalibrating the dipstick.
Caterpillar has recommended that for a long time, since they have no control over the angle the engine is installed at. Some are canted to the side others at a front-to-back angle. Your Cat manual should tell you how to do it--not hard.
