RV caravan tours into Mexico

We have decided that we really want to bask in the warm sun next winter 06, and see Mexico. I have begun my research and am looking at 3 companies. Who knows about, can compare or give opinions on these companies? Adventure Caravans, Tracks RV, and Fantasy RV tours.

I have have heard about the small roads and the tight camp grounds that ocurr sometimes. We would like to see Baja and the Yucatan, or Colonial Mexico. I am more worried about the Yucatan for safety reasons than the Baja. We ask anyone who has knowledge of these companies, and or has been on an escorted tour in Mexico ( include any companies I haven't found yet) to enlighten us to not just the delights available south of the boarder but the dangers, problems and anything else they can think of.

We have an 05 Allure 470 40' w/ tag axle. We love it. Coach # 31199

We have been to Baja many times. My advice is don't pay for a caravan, just go. Once you get on the highway, you will see many caravans. Just get in behind them and follow them! You will pay a little more when you pull into a RV park, but you will not be paying for the caravan, so you are still ahead. Caravans in Baja are a ripoff, in my opinion. You do not need them. Get some books on Baja and see what there is to do, and follow the caravans to the campgrounds!

Michelle: I haven't taken a tour into Mexico but for the past few years we have spend our Februarys in Pureto Penasco, aka Rocky Point.

Many in the group have been there also.
It's a quick trip with an easy Border Crossing at Lukeville, Arizona. Lots of great campgrounds on the beach (Playa). You can get a feel for Mexico. It's safe and very Tourista friendly. Lots of things to see and do.

Have fun!

If you want to go to San Felipe, but are concerned about driving, El Dorado Ranch leads a caravan from Calexico every week, on Wednesday, I think. Charge for the service is $25. www.eldoradoranch.com for information. Also, check www.sanfelipe.com.mx
