HWH Synco Cylinder

Hope someone has had experience with this problem. Just before the Jekyll Island Rally, I discovered oil leaking in the propane tank area where the front slide cylinders and hoses are located. Had HWH check is out at rally and they said I needed to have the Synchronizing Cylinder re-built. I have discovered that the task of removing the cylinder is a bit beyond me. HWH can do it at a resonable price, but of course, I am in South Carolina. Priced the task at a couple of dealers and the price they qoted was exorbitant compared with the HWH quote. Does anyone have any experience with this repair and have a recommendation on a facility to pull out the cylinder and re-install.

I replaced my synchronizing cylinder a couple of years back. It really is not that difficult. Most if not all the hoses that connect to the cylinder are quick-connect types and are color coded. There really isn't that much wrench work. I'm not trying to talk you into it, but it looks worse than it is. I think that there is a bleeding procedure that may be the worse part. HWH will supply complete instructions with the repaired/replaced cylinder.
I bought my coach and have had service work done at Bill Plemmons RV in Winston-Salem, NC. They do very good work, but for some reason are not a CC dealer anymore. They are still a certified serevice center for CC and others as well. Ask for Russ (service manager). They seem to be more reasonable than most dealers. In my opinion, there are no decent dealers in South Carolina.

I agree with ROB that there are no decent RV dealers in SC. However, there is at least one good repair shop I know of. If you are in the Charleston area, try Pro Tech. Their number is (843) 760-9933. If you are in upstate SC, try Carolina Coach and Camper in Claremont (between Charlotte and Hickory)

Been there, done that. First get your hands dirty and clean up the entire area really well. Make sure all connections are very clean.
Then observe. In my case we thought it was the synchronizing assembly but it was really a back pressure valve attached to it. A separate thigamajig. Try to identify exactly where the leak is coming from before you jump in. As to purging the system afterwards: follow HWH.
If it is the back pressure valve, then no sweat. If it is the main assembly you may be in for something more. HWW are good folks and will hold your hand through the entire process. Good Luck.
