Used Country Coach

I called Country Coach on Friday, June 14 and requested information on when the 00 Affinity had been placed in service and any warranty repairs that had been performed on this rv. The service representative told that this could not be provided because it is proprietary information between the former owner and Country Coach.
This change in policy has been the result of new federal laws. I just told them from what you are telling me buyer beware. The representative said that is an accurate conclusion. Therefore, if you are buying a used rv be careful. Do your inspections and hope the dealer or individual is trustworthy.

I think you can still get the info using the VIN number. Try going to the NADA site and enter the VIN number to see if you can get a hit, if so then it will tell you some info but to get detailed info you will be required to pay them a onetime fee for the service. Just a thought. You might also be able to get info from state DMV if you know the state it was registered in. The fact that Country Coach is unwilling to share such info would make me have 2nd thoughts about buying a rig, in the future, with their name plate on it. They obiviously have something to cover up if they are unwilling to share coach history with a new owner.

Travman100,

Without investigating the validity of the federal regulation that was cited as the reason for not releasing warranty information I would say your comment about CC obviously having something to cover up is unfortunate and a bit premature.
