2003 Magna shore power cord retracting on its own while hooked up!

Yahoo Message Number: 34890
Hi group- I have a peculiar problem and would like to know if anyone else has had this problem and if you found out the cause of the problem. While camping here in WA my power cord pulled itself in as far as it could and the motor kept going trying to pull it in all the way. I tried to sreverse it with the switch to no avail. I finally got the remote and got it to reverse, but as soon as I released the out button on the remote the cord immediately started retracting again.
After much frustration I loosened the white collar and moved it all the way up the cord and tightened it there. This solved the immediate problem but it will probably happen again at the next park. I looked up the trouble shooting info, but this problem is not listed. If anyone has had a better solution I would appreciate the information.I am thinking maybe the wet weather may have something to do with it, but I keep the cord door closed while hooked up.I am NOT locking it now, though! I never had this problem, but in the interim I'll bet there's a fuse for the hose reel motor somewhere that you could pull after you hook up power, and then reinstall when you're ready to reel the hose back in.
