Service at National Rallys

Yahoo Message Number: 35079
What kind of service may I expect to have done at a national CC rally? We're going to Tucson, in February. I have a list of items I'd like to get addressed, but if the service is the same as was at a smaller Texas rally, I'll take the coach to a real service place and stand in line for service (Buddy's is about 6 weeks out now). I realize they won't do normal PM work like tranny fluids or oil changes, but we have a list of about 6-7 items that I'd like to have them look at.
At the Texas rally, the guys from JC were more interested in working on the Prevosts than on my Allure.

Comments?

We went to the Rally in Albany OR this year and had work done on our Allure. They do limit it to three items and about an hour of service.
They did replace my step motor and control unit, it took about 2.5 hours and they said could not spend anymore time on the coach, but they did finish the job. We were happy to have the steps fixed. At Tucson I would guess the main jobs would be by Beaudry techs.

David,

We attended the CC Reunion this past summer in Albany, OR. During registration, we were asked to fill out a form listing our "top three" items that we would like to have work done on. They did say that they couldn't work on anything on the roof for safety reasons. But I did have some drawers fixed, a light on my dashboard repaired, etc. Also, they had reps there from Onan and I signed up on a separate list and had a fuel leak in my genset repaired, also free of charge. My neighbor at the Reunion had some problems with his awning and had those repaired by the awning company who also had reps there.
(Not knowing what other companies might be at the Tucson rally, I wouldn't count on those other services.) However, the CC staff did a great job on taking care of the few problems I had. And they were working on CC's that were many years old - a really nice service for us CCers.

The techs at the rallys are really getting overloaded. The factory can not supply the logistics and support that all the owners would want. However, I appreciate the help that they do offer and so far have been more than happy except for the segi window problems......... It really is a mystery as to why CC continues to use segi as their quality has not been good for a lot of years. Someone once told me that there is a connection between the two that is more than user/supplier.

A year or more ago there was discussion by a few owners about "...why does CC continue to buy from SeGi..." and the conclusion was that CC was the major investor in SeGi. If this is true they are buying from themselves. Makes sense to me. If they change suppliers their investment goes in the tank.

With the exception of the window problems we are very satisfied CC owners.

At smaller rallies like at Kerrville, Texas, the techs attempt to handle at least 2 things on every coach. That is the target service when we have 50 or 60 coaches in attendance.

Members can list more than two items and IF POSSIBLE the techs will work on those other items, time and parts permitting.

As a service to the club I try to feed the techs so that they don't have off-premises downtime. We try to use their available most effectively. I did feed the techs Friday and Saturday at a member's casita who happens to own a Prevost and maybe it was mis construed that the techs spent a of of time with the Prevosts' but their purpose was to EAT then get back to work.
