01 Intrigue Entry Handle Light

Thanks to all for your input on the '01 Intrigue Entry Handle Light. When I finally got the screw direct under the plastic handle out of the upper bracket, I discovered the Bulb had over had heated the top of the plastic handle and permanently stuck into it. The Light bulb base is corroded into the socket and cannot be removed without damaging the socket. Looks like a more involved project than I want to do in the subfreezing weather in Redmond, Oregon.
Looks like water has infiltrated behind the bracket to cause the socket corrosion problem.
Why was the area not sealed during it manufacturing??? Cost Savings???? Maybe something for the techs at the next Rally we attend???? LeeCasebeer, '01 Intrigue #11219
