Cheap #2 diesel fuel in S. California $3.999

Fuel prices in California have been notoriously high compared to other states....but happily it is dropping! Todays lowest CA prices at Flying J truck stops is $4.359 at Bakersfield and Ripon.
However, anyone passing near San Clemente, CA can take advantage of a bargain. On Friday 8/15/08 I filled my tank at the price of $3.999 for #2 deisel at, of all places, a local Arco AM/PM station. It is at SW corner of the Camino De Estrella exit off of I-5. The station is at the top of the ramp at the North end of town and is a little tricky to negotiate so I would not recommend pulling in with your toad. But, I was OK with my 40" Allure. I used the outside pump where thre is no overhead roof. The other pumps have 15' overhead clearance but they are close together.

I live here in San Clemente. If anyone is interested I will provide the details on the best way to enter.
