I just finished installing a cabinet directly in front of the passenger seat where the removable panel is located on Allures and Intrigues. I ordered this, my second such cabinet, from Davis Cabinets in Junction City, Ore at a cost of $ 250 plus shipping. If you're in Junction City they will build your cabinet and install it for you. These people do a great job of matching wood and hardware to look like an original factory installation. I could have transfered the first one from my 2000 Intrigue except we went from Walnut in it to Cherry in the new coach. I'm not advertizing for Davis, rather am letting you know about a very handy addition to your coach for a nominal price. It's a really handy place for the navigator to keep maps, brochures, etc.

Walt,

With all the "stuff" the wife has had Shaun put in our coach, I'm sure he will be able to take early retirement. Now if he will give me a few bucks for each one I have sent to him, I would be well on my way to a Prevost. He does do nice work and is very picky about how a project turns out. A very nice person to do business with.

We had the same cabinet put in our Intrigue and it is great. No one beats Davis.

That sounds interesting, Walt. I don't usually have anybody in the passenger seat, but any extra storage is nice. How about posting some pics?

Ree, I don't have a digital camera, so maybe someone else that has the dash cabinet can supply a picture. I might add, as mentioned by someone else on this board, Davis does a great job on pull out drawers for under stove and pantry access. We had those on our Intrigue and will have the pots and pans drawer installed on our present Allure if we ever get to Junction City again.

I couldn't find the cabinet on Davis' web site so I posted mine in the PHOTOS section of our owners group.

I'll also add my kudos to Davis for a job well done! We had them install an entire wall of cabinets from behind the passenger seat to the refrig in our rig prior to taking delivery. Rick helped me design it and built it to perfection.

Then, because of so many others doing the same, we also had them design and install the front cabinet. At first I thought "CC could be doing this," but then, again, we all have designed many different ones suited to our purpose so I'd rather we be in control!
I'll try to take a photo and upload it soon, but ours has a vertical spot that holds TL, Mountain Guides, Next Exit, and a small notebook.
Then there are two shelves: the lower one is deep so that I could put down an inch of foam...that is where I keep our camcorder and digital camera when we are traveling, so I can just reach in a pull them out if we see a photo. The upper shelf holds the cellphones, binoculars, flashlight, etc. On the inside of the two doors we've put hooks that hold all our keys...so it's easy to just reach in the doorway without entering the coach to grab the Jeep key, bay keys, etc.

WOW! What a great idea!!

I will be in Junction City in April for factory visit. I would like to make an appointment with Davis.
Does anyone have his phone number?

Jan

I can't wait to see your photos. What does Davis do with all the wires and stuff inside the panal?

Thanks

Tom I installed my own and the only problem I had was with vent hoses I had to move out of the way. There were no wires in the way at all. I did have to enlarge the plywood opening abot 1/2 inch on all four sides but that was easily done with a scroll saw.

I can only add my great satisfaction with Shaun of Davis. I call

I am interested in such a cabinet for my 2000 Allure. Is it possible you could post a photo of it? Or, doe Davis have a web site that shows the cabinet?

Jim,

Take a look at photos 16 and 17 in the photo section of this group. I post the photos of the dash cabinet yesterday.

That is a great looking cabinet. On my 2000 Intrigue I am pretty sure there are some fuses/circuit breakers in the area behind where you have installed the cabinet. Did you leave an easy access to get behind the cabinet when needed?

Yes, there are several things behind the cabinet that could need attention at some time, including the flasher for the turn indicators. Actually, it's easier to get to these things with the cabinet in plce than the original panel with eight screws. The cabinet is held in place with just four screws which can be easily removed.
