Onan 8KW 1000 Hr. Servicing

For the 1000 hour servicing on the 8KW generator, Onan recommends, that in addition to changing the oil and filters (oil, fuel, air), replacing the coolant system hoses, thermostat, pressure cap, coolant and V-belt.
This seems to be a lot of replacing in a short period of time when compared to service recommendations for the engine cooling system.
I was wondering how critical the coolant system items are. Would appreciate any feedback from anybody who's passed the 1000 hr. mark and whether they had all the coolant system items replaced.

If your generator has been running in an oil or coolant leaking environment as everything is wet inside your hush cover then I can see repairing the problem and then replacing most of the items you mentioned.
Other wise check the coolant with a test strip to determine that coolant is at its proper balance. Fill the reservoir with coolant with in the marks. Take a look at the belt for wear and proper tension, if belt glazed or cracked that should be replaced. Or get a spare to carry along. Oil and filter yes, fuel filter yes, air filter yes. Check fuel delivery hoses as CC was using some not so long life hose that cracks with age. There are several posts on that subject. You might be in that window with the problem hose issue.
These Onans are built to run a very long time and pretty much trouble free. I have had boat buddies with over 8000 hours and they just keep running. Actually the environment the RV is much cleaner and really less problems as the RV gens have enclosed cooling.
Based on my experience 1000 hours is pretty low service hours.
