Satellite Systems

My system is a Motosat with Optistream as the ISP. It was installed by Advanced Satellite Systems in Junction City (Cal is very good!)
While there are some small glitches, my system works very well. The "radar detector" glitch, was corrected by a frequency change (990 mghz to 1130 mghz).

I receive my Direct TV as well with no problems.
As far as I'm concerned, I love it! Any specific questions or concerns, I'd be glad to answer.

Hi Jim. I'm still sitting on the fence awaiting the costs to drop a bit as we still maintain a home with our dsl/isp hookup there and dont want to have two full time systems being paid for. can i ask what the cost, total installation, and monthly of the moto sat/ioptistream system is now??

Could you tell me what the monthly fee is for the internet connection. Do you use the same dish as for the TV---with an extra connector?

I have been quoted $100/month (or maybe it was a grocery-store price of $99.95).

I believe that the TV reception is done with the same dish and an appropriately angled LNB (the electronics that collect the satellite signal from the DirectTV satellite), and a seperate coax cable.
So once you aim the dish (with software), you're TV signal LNB is also able to receive the TV signal.

You will need to pay extra for the TV signal (or if you have the same service at home, you can take the controller to the MH and use it there. This is something DirectTV will likely not tell you as they lose some revenue, but hey, they charge enough for much of the junk that comes down, so why not?).
