installing galley slide seal 2003 intrigue

wondering if anyone has tips on gaining additional space to install seal and should you apply something to grip side of seal to prevent water from rusting clips again also should you apply something to these seals to help maintain integrity seal failed on bottom side of slide!

When I replaced mine about three years ago, I called CC and the Tech told me I had to jack up the slide to get enough clearance. I purchased two house jacks (2 piece type) and used a two X four under the edge of the slide. I jacked it up about and inch. I sprayed the inside of the new seal with silicone to help get it to go go down onto the edge sticking up. It was a pain and it took two days and my fingers were cramped for another two days. I hope I never have to do it again.
