Hydro-Hot Stopped

Last night the Hydro Hot was working and today it is not. We purchased the coach new (2007 Inspire 360 #52029) and have never had this happen. I have had the unit serviced every 12 months. I checked the fuses, PG fluid level and the diesel fuel level - all OK. I checked the control panel and green lights were illuminated for electric, diesel, and pump #3. All other lights were not illuminated. We need some help.

1. Does anyone have a "fix" suggestion?
2. We are camped on the grounds of NAS Corpus Christi, TX - can anyone recommend a tech in the area?
3. We will be at the Hacienda RV Resort in Las Cruces Sunday evening, staying for 3 days. Can anyone recommend a tech in that city?
4. We will be in Albuquerque for the FMCA Convention. Does anyone know if a HH tech will be there?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

I have had some problems lately and will share this as it may help you trace possible fault paths; understand that our coach setup by be very different than yours. On our 2000 Magna we have two circuits that can operate the hydronic heating (Webasto) system circulation pump, which I believe must be able to run in order for the burner to operate. One circuit is activated by the furnace settings in the coach which will operate the pump and heater to provide space heating and water heating. The other circuit is operated by the ignition switch to turn on the pump when the engine is running to circulate engine heated coolant through the water heater, and baseboard heaters if set up in furnace mode. The 20 amp fuse for the circulation pump hydronic heating through the Webasto is located in the electrical panel on the interior of our bay next to the surge protection and transfer switch devises. The 20 amp fuse for the pump when running the engine is located in the fuse panel in the bay under the driver's seat on our coach. Hope this may help.
We apparently have a bad circulation pump which I am trying to identify for either repair or replacement (no visible markings that I can see). (If anyone knows about this pump, I would welcome information).

The same exact problem occurred on our coach last week right after it had been serviced at Buddy Gregg. Miraculously, it started up two days later. A call to Buddy Gregg indicated they had another unit in the shop with the same problem. They think it might be a relay. We went over five years with not one problem. Hope this helps.

Tom I replaced the front circulating pump on my 1999 magna last year before I sold it I will have to check my records but I believe I got it from Buddy Gregg in Knoxville. I had one reworked 2 or 3 years earlier the one in the back service bay the magnet came unglued from the housing and locked the motor and would blow the fuse in the front service bay. There is a yahoo group for hydronic heating that is run by Roger Berke. You might want to ask him. He has troubleshooting guides or will assist in troubleshooting and has parts available. He will be at the FMCA Rally in Albuquerque. If you can't find the group, let me know and I'll look for the link.

This may be too late for you now but might help in the future. If you are not already a member of the Yahoo HydronicHeat Group I highly recommend that you join. The owner Roger Berke is an authorized AquaHot tech and has been very helpful in walking me through troubleshooting steps. He also has a list of authorized techs throughout the country.

We experienced a Hydro Hot failure in mid-January. It can be difficult to find well-qualified technicians who can work on some of the systems in our coaches. We located Roger Berke on the Hydronic Heating Yahoo Group where Roger is the site moderator. I called Roger and found he was in Quartzsite. When we arrived at Quartzsite, Roger immediately got our Hydro Hot working on a temporary basis. A day later, he repaired our problem.
Roger works solely on Hydro Hot and Aqua Hot units and is factory authorized service tech. He has a traveling bench with parts available, at your site. I'd recommend Roger to anyone requiring Hydro Hot service without reservation, including service beyond normal annual maintenance. He knows these units inside and out, and is fair and honest. You can reach Roger at through his website at: http://www.rvhydronicheaterrepair.com/AboutUS.htm Since you are planning to be at the FMCA rally in Albuquerque, check Roger's service appointment link on his website where you can schedule service in advance. If you schedule service through Hydro Hot, I'd suggest that you ask for Roger.

Aqua Hot has an excellent troubleshooting guide in the various model shop manuals that can be downloaded and kept for reference when a tech isn't available.

There is a hydronic heating group here on Yahoo that is moderated by a Hydro Hot tech who travels in his motor home. You might join that group and ask if he will be at the FMCA Convention. I would imagine he would be, but I have not seen any posts to that effect on that group
