Choosing a Tow Car

Yahoo Message Number: 4315
Buddy / Lila: One year ago we went through the same decision process.
To help reduce the choices we began with the Towing articles in :
1. FMCA Mag. ....towing is annually covered in their March issue I believe.
2. Motorhome Mag... towing is annually covered in their January issue I believe.

This will reveal those Mfgs. approving ( read: WARRANTY UNAFFECTED) if towed
4-wheels down.

This will reveal those Mfgs. approving their cars having Manual or Auto.
Trans. if towed 4-wheels down.

In my view this is the KEY thing to consider....a Mfgs' warranty is too valuable to ignore / overlook.

3. Consumers Report Mag.....their annual April issue covers ALL car Mfgs.
including their mechanical reliability over time.
4. Checkout www.remcotowing.com or (800) 228 - 2481 a Mfg. of towing
products for helpful info.

You will end up with several choices where your personal preferences then enter.

Honda and Saturn are very popular choices among Motorhome owners. Both discuss how to tow them in their owner's manuals = KEY.
Over the years we've towed a 1988 Acura Legend and currently a 2002 Honda CR-V, both 4-wheels down, both with auto. trans.....ZERO problems due to towing. Merely add towbar, observe Mfgs'. towing guidelines...... and GO.
Honda recently began producing the "Pilot" which is a fullsize SUV.
Honda's Oddysey Van has received raves recently among CC owners on this website.

Honda / Acura has broadly available service in USA / Canada.
