Trip change

Many thanks to all who responded both online and off line regarding parks in the SFO area. Received an overwhelming response which was most helpful. Too bad everyone couldn't read the great offline messages I got. As a result we have changed our plans from San Diego/San Francisco to the Mother Lode area of CA. It sure looks like a great place to visit.

I would appreciate knowing the offline messages too, Lyle. I try to educate myself and not re-invent the wheel. Guess we all have to march to someone else's sensitivity. This group is still the best going, no doubt.

I don't know what you are looking for in a park, but we stayed in a good enough park in Vallejo 10

years ago. Petaluma KOA is located well enough, but I don't like the park, hard to get in an out, to many

kids, satellite can be a problem with all the trees. Not that many 50 amp spots and some don't have

sewer. They offer tours of the city and the Bridge is about a half hour drive.

For just a place to park we stay at the fair grounds in Santa Rosa. Great for visiting the coast, and just a quick jump over the mountain to Calistoga, Healdsburg, Alexander Valley and Napa for winery's, etc.

The county fair grounds in Calistoga is great for winery visits, a little far from the city and will be the

location of the CCI rally in 2011. There are a couple of parks near Bodega Bay that are great for visiting

coastal spots, like Mendiceno, Ft Ross, Jenner, the best Italian food in the area in Occidental. I'll do
