water pump or on board compressor - or something else?

Yahoo Message Number: 62904
I have a Vogue V 96 ( very similar to high end CC of that era). It has an on board compressor and of course a water pump. I keep hearing something turn on for 2 seconds and then stop. I have pulled the fuse on the compressor and turned off the water pump but it continues. It is rythmic at about 4 minute intervals . Any ideas?

My water pump was doing the same thing, and I found I had bumped the fresh water tank fill valve handle just enough for it to allow pressure to bleed down, thereby causing the water pump to cycle occasionally. I firmly closed that valve, no more problems. The year of your coach? Do you have a fresh water fill valve (the valve that routes city water into your fresh water tank while hooked up)? Seems like pulling the fuse would kill that circuit, whichever it was. I can see why you asked ;*) I think my next step would be to pull groups of fuses to narrow down the circuit, much like I would do to find a current drain. A two minute intermittent cycle would take more patience that I would want to give it, but that depends on how much it bugged me.
Good luck with that. Report back, please, so I can learn something.

Thanks Jack. The coach is a 96. I can eliminate the water pump and the compressor with fuses. Now I am moving on to the 110 circuts - starting with the AC's. I notice that the back thermostat will not control the back AC although the unit does cool so there may be some issues there. Looking at the 12v fuses at least the panel in the bath I cannot see anything that would be likely. There is another chassis panel in the front driver bay door - I will also have a look there.

Ps: Have not heard it since I killed the 110v to the back AC :)

Ahaa! I hesitated to offer any suggestions after I saw your call sign, but sometimes a blind hog will find an acorn. ;*)
My Echo charger and Xantrex charger were raising Cain (LOUD buzzing, intermittent) after I had the coach for about three months, and I finally narrowed it down to failing batteries - after new batteries took a good charge no more noise. My solar does the bulk of my finish charging now, so no noise there.
Hope you have a good day of trouble shooting. Nothing more satisfying than finding and fixing a bothersome issue. The more esoteric, the more satisfying it is, right?

Sounds like the compressor could be sized in the rear AC.

Ours was behaving in a similar fashion - the water heater check valve was leaking.

Tell me about your solar panels. Did you add them yourself?

Steve Mitchell (the Mitchell family manufactured the Vogue coaches out in Prior Oklahoma) now runs Parliament Coach in Clearwater Florida...

From your posts, it sounds like you are systematically narrowing down the problem...
But... if you are unable to find it, I am sure Steve still has some "Vogue" techs in his employ that would be happy to help you "figger" out just what is causing your "cycling" problem...
Attention flamers: I have no connection with Parliament Coach other than having occasional service done on my Magna and buying parts there...
