Awnings: Window & Slide

Yahoo Message Number: 63852
1. Window awnings: Any recommendation regarding the Carefree one-touch window awnings tension adjustment. The awnings do not draw up completely. An adjustment at the Motorized Arm roller end cap had a hex adjustment. I did adjust it enough to fully retract the awning. My concern is tension on the fabric. Carefree operations manual does not provide any guidelines, and a customer support call response to this question was only that adjustment is when there is new fabric or motor installed.

2. Slide awning rail: The awning fabric at the outside edges of the awning rail is working out of the rail. I plan to crimp the awning rail ends to prevent any further widening of the rail. Any other suggestions?
3. Slide awning assembly: Repair suggestions for a 10" piece of the polyrod rib pulled out from the rollbar assembly end. This apparently was caused by the Arm assembly catching as it was rolling the awning.

Thanks for the help.

I located a mobile RV awnings specialist in the Phoenix area. The polyrod rib was inadequate at the rail ends of all the slide awnings. He was able to insert additional polyrod and crimp the ends. The polyrod piece that worked its way out by the forward rollbar assembly could not be accessed, and there are 4 polyrod inserts in the hub as a safety measure for situations as I experienced.
