Refrigerator Woes

2006 Inspire, 1200LRIM Norcold. I opened the drawers under the fridge and they were both soaked with water, the left drawer more than the right.
There is NO water on the floor and no leaks from the icemaker line that is visible. I have a water dispenser on the left door. Thinking the icemaker line and line to the door dispenser are one in the same I shut off the icemaker line. Water still comes out of the dispenser. Where is the source/line for the water dispenser?
Any ideas on how to troubleshoot this, short of taking out the fridge, which I cannot do.

Thanks in advance for any ideas.

Judy, try the exterior panel outside, behind refrig. There should be a valve, mine is to the right front. It will have a clear plastic line, which goes to the frig. Turn it off.

There is a tray at the back of the top shelf that collects water off the metal lovers. That tray is likely full and overflowing into the rest of the refer.

A turkey baster will empty it.

Thanks for the try, but the tray is dry as a bone, there is no "stray" water inside the fridge. The water is dripping, slowly, underneath the front edge, onto some wood framing around the drawers and into the drawers, now onto a towel.

Judy, here is my uninformed guess: It might be a tank some refrigerators use to keep a supply of cold water for dispensing through the door. I can't imagine there would be two water supplies into the fridg (could be, though), and now that you have shut the water off, maybe it is just than little tank emptying itself. If the flow slows down, then stops, that might be it. I hope it is something easy.

Jack, thanks for the try. With the icemaker line turned off, city water cut off, water pump on, I tried the water dispenser and water comes out, and the pump pumps so my conclusion is that there must be a separate line coming in somewhere.

Good, looks like you have a handle on it. My house unit had two 110 volt solenoid valves that allowed water into the ice maker and the door water - the tank I mentioned tasted so "plastic-ey" we could not use it. At least now you know to look for another line, hope you find it. RVing is an adventure, isn't it? ;*)
This is a great group - I often do some preventative maintenance based on the problems are having - for instance I need to calk one of my slide bottom trim pieces.

I've looked everywhere I know to look and can't figure out where this other line could be! I've looked up the service manuals and owner's manuals for this fridge and no help there!!

Right now I'm using the water pump on an "as needed" basis.

If you have any drawers next to the REFER, pull the bottom drawer and see if there is a water line and valve?

Is there a tank in the rear of your refrigerator compartment? This is where the dispenser line should run to, and it should run from a dispenser solenoid on rear of refrigerator. You should be able to disconnect the line between the solenoid and the cooler tank and empty that, up to a quart of water, once emptied check to see if that stops your leak. It sounds as though you have a leak in the internal line inside the refrigerator compartment.

Take a look at the connection diagram in the installation and owners manual for the water dispenser, on pages 4 and 5 to see a typical installation for the water lines.

Thanks Ray, that is what I'm looking for! At least it give me a place to start. A couple of questions: The cutoff for the icemaker line (which I assume also supplies water to the dispenser) located under the refrigerator behind the right drawer is turned off, why do I continue to get water out of the dispenser. If I disconnect the dispenser line at the back of the refrigerator can I keep the water pump on?

Is there a 2nd valve on the outside of your refrigerator in the outside compartment? If so, then that valve will need to be shut off as well.

I have Inspire 51753 and just had the same problem. I found water on the floor next to the refrigerator. I removed the drawer under the refrigeator closed the valve on the blue water line which goes into the floor and outside to the control valve for the icemaker. That line is clear plastic and had a fine hole in it from wear of rubbing on the compartment. I replace the line with a copper line. The line from the control vale to the icemaker goes up the back side of the refrigerator which would require removeal of refrigerator. After you have dried out open valve and check line for leaks with icemaker turned off. Then turn on icemaker and watch for leaks.

We had pin hole leaks in that ice maker line as well, as fast as I would cut it shorter and reinstall another hole would start. After the third leak I replaced it.
The line (1/4" plastic) and compression fittings are available at any hardware/Home Depot type store. I just threaded it right through the existing hole in the floor. No leaks since. A life time supply of parts can be found in a signel "ice maker install kit". Cheaper to hunt down the line and ferrules (spelling?) but not much cheaper.
