Maintenance Question, Hydrolic Fluid level check

Had been advised by HWH that when checking the fluid level of the tank located in the engine compartment, one of the slides need to be extended and one not, at least on the 01 Intrigue. Does anyone have the gospel skinny on this subject and coach??

For what it's worth my slide fluid tank is in the bay under the drivers seat. And our numbers are only 16 apart.

I was told the Hydrolic Fluid canster in the engine compartment was the power steering, but I am not sure on what else it serves.

Smiley, you are right. The system also runs the cooling fan.

Slides should be in when checking fluid level in HWH reservoir other wise you will be low and overfill. This happen to me and of course, when the slide come in, you get oil all over the bay.

This is not always true. Your assumption is that when the slides are in the hydraulic rams are compressed and therefore the reservoir is at maximum volume. CC also used one slide configuration that worked in the opposite mode. On the Intrigue Suite Sensation, and maybe others, the living room/galley slide on some had a chain drive system whereby the hydraulic rams are extended to bring the slide in. Therefore, the rams are compressed when the slide is out and the reservoir will be at maximum volume. In this case when checking the fluid level that slide should be out and the other in. Owners need to understand which slide mechanism they have.

On my 2007 Magna with 4 slides the manual calls for The Pax side slides to be extended and the drivers side to be retracted to check the fluid level.

I have a question about my 2006 Country Coach Inspire 360, #51942.
I have electric motors that run my 4 slides. Is my hydraulic tank in anyway involved with the slideout process? If so, how do I check the hydraulic fluid level? It is my understand that the hydraulic fluid operates the power steering and power cooling fan. Is this correct? Thanks,

No, no involvement of the hydraulic system for this electric/mechanical slide system. There should be some information about it in your documents. If not visit the Power Gear web site, there are numerous documents available there.
