Diesel Generator over heating

I have a 1990 C.C. Concept. The 3 cylinder diesel by Onan generator that sits center and up front is over heating. The engine runs great but the electric motor that operates the squirl cage on the left side under the driver does not come on. the generator slides out front on rails operated hydrolicly. Thanks

Not sure what type of gen-set you have..........But here is some info on what I encountered with my ONAN 12.5 on my 2001 42'Bed&Breakfast Affinity 5972.
My gen would run and then get hot and shut down after a hour or so with one A/C unit running. When I turned on two A/C units it would over heat and shut down more quickly. As luck would have it, wer were at an RV show in Tampa. I spoke with the ONAN folks who were in the tech support group and they told me that in all likelyhood it was a loose belt. After removing 5 ga-zillion bolts to remove the covers, shroud and fan blade, I found the belt. Sure enough it was loose. I got a new belt, installed it and the problem went away.
Please note that if your gen-set is located in the front of the coach, you will have to extend it out all the way and crawl under the coach to gain access to the rear area of the generator. You have plenty of room to work in the area where the generator is normally located. You'll have plenty of vertical space once you enter this area.
They said that it could also be either the thermostat or the temp.sender unit. But in my case I could see the temp rising over time, so they appeared to be working fine.

Hope this helps.
