Wind storm problem solution '02 Allure?

We had our coach in for service at Desert West in Phoenix Az. and asked them to look at the cooling fan controls. They called CC and checked out our system and found there was no fuse in the box location. This omission was causing the fan to run even at cold idle. For those of you with similar problems the fuse box is on the front driver side, and the wire # is 84 (red)and there should be a
7.5 amp fuse. Our coach is a 2002 Allure 40'w/tag, ISC 350. When I
start up and idle now the fan does not come on. Have not been on a dirt road to try it out but see no reason it should not be a great improvement.I was running everybody out of the campgrounds when I was doing 5 mph! Macke cc 30792

Hi Mack and Mary,

You might want to take a second look at that the other fuse box at the left side of the drivers area and also the one located in the compartment where the disconnects are located. The strapping between the two fuse blocks is connected with securing screws which were not tighening during manufacturing. It was true in my case and led to intermittants.

After reading Fred and Mack & Mary's e-mails on this subject, I went out and checked the 7.5 amp fuse ( which is Ok) and then looked for the strap Fred referred to. I guess I don't know what I'm looking for as I couldn't find a strap in the rear fuse box. My problem is obviously an intermittent one as on a 650 mile trip this week my engine ran about 30% of the time at the normal 190-200 temp, with the balance of the time split about evenly between 175 and 210 degrees.I can rule out the guage as the tranny temp is tracking the engine temp pretty closely. In Jan. the fan controller was replaced at the Ft. Meyers CC rally. Since then everything has been fine until this trip. I talked to Kevin Kiscouan who feels I've probably got a bad temp. senser.
Fred's e-mail seemed to address the same type of problem, but I can't find the strap he refers to. Can you give me some help, Fred? I'm beginning to think I'm snake-bit on these fans as I had unshirted Hell with the one in my 2000 Intrigue

Hi Walt,

On my 2000 Allure, the fuse boxes contain 2 fuse blocks side-by-side which are connected with a copper strap about 1/3 of the way down.
On 2003s I did notice CC went from a plastic box to a steel box and I did not look inside. In the box, look for the feed wire that supplies the voltage to the fuse block and verify that all wires are securely fastened. Good Luck.

Hey, Walt.
Sounds a lot like my coach. CC replaced my fan controller... finally... and now my engine temp runs around 198-204 with spikes to 208 (at which point the "WATER TEMP" warning light cones on. Then the temp will drop to the mid 180's. These readings are from the SilverLeaf.
I'm going to a CC shop on Monday for a replacement sensor. Hope that will lower the average temp and stop the swings. I've been looking at this problem since last August.

Hi, Fred.
Which fuse box are you talking about... the one up front or the one near the disconnect switches?
