Shore Power?

Came back to coach today and found we have no shore power. No problems with campground, and there is power to the external box. All the circuit breakers inside the coach seem fine.
Everything seems to work fine with generator running. Are there other circuit breakers down in the bays? What else is there to check?

Could be power transfer switch, mine went out and I had similar symptoms. Wouldn't work on Shore Power but would work on generator power.

Scott, try flipping OFF ALL power switches at the power post. Then leaving OFF the 20 and 30 AMP turn on the 50 AMP ONLY.

This is almost surely a transfer switch problem. Ours did the same thing, switching back and forth between generator and shore power fixed the problem for the time being.
Stay hooked up to shore power and start your generator, the power will switch to it automatically. Once the current is stabilized, turn the generator off, the switch should reconnect to shore power. If this doesn't unstick the switch after a few tries, you are probably going to have to replace it.

I had the same problem in my coach. It was just the small board inside the transfer switch. A time delay board. I found one on line for $35.00 which solved the problem. Barrie Boas 94 Concept 5111

I had transfer switch problem. It would not switch over to the generator side. Found out one can buy just the coil relay switch for around $50. Lots cheaper then the 0ver $300 for the complete switch.

Lee Z offered a suggestion that worked. I "tapped" firmly on the side of the switch and could hear it reset itself. Sure enough, got up into the coach and we have power (at least momentary.) On our 04 Magna the surge protector/power transfer switch is located in the middle bay, very near the inverter. Pain in the butt (literally) to reach but I finally did.

Guys The tapping on the side of the unit would seem to me that the contacts on the high voltage side of the relay were probably suck together. I don't know if you can open the unit up and see the contacts, themselves. If you could see the contacts , you might be able to file them to get out the high spots. If the unit is powered on and off at high loads ( therefor high amps and lots of heat ) the contacts could be very hot from the load. The problem in the long haul will only get worse if the contacts have high spots and small contact are when delivering the high amperage. This is an old trick that racers like Bob Harnden would file the points to get the biggest surface area

Several thoughts on this. First, if your mode of operation has been routinely exercising this switch and it has started sticking, unless you can clean and file the contacts I'd assume the problem isn't going away and get a replacement and put it in as soon as possible.
If your mode of operation doesn't result in this switch being used much, it probably will be OK.
I second the idea of cleaning and filing the contacts if they are accessible. Make sure you use only a file or emory paper specifically intended for this purpose.

Just want to Share this also, Did you remove the cover and look for burnt or loose connections? Remember your rig is going down the road and there is bumping and Banging. The last owner on our Rig replaced the transfer sw. Voltage Supressor and Inverter back in 07. I always do a yearly Insp. on All electrical systems and Genetator! Thanks for sharing, Ken 99 Allure
