Marketing folks have many ways of getting lists based on demographics so I doubt it would be a far stretch to say that a list of CC owners would be fairly easy to procure from a list company, whose business it is to market such lists. I see no connection between CCI and this marketing campaign and see no evil in it. No need to get upset about receiving such an offering, if one is not interested in the offer, just delete it and move on. Wouldn't offend me if I received it. After all, I receive junk mail from political operatives all the time and believe me I consider those a lot more offensive than receiving an offering from an RV resort manager.

Just my opinion.

I agree with all your points, Ray. And, it is virtually impossible to prove a negative. I have not received any such letter, so the CCI list (probably) was not involved.

CCI has not and will not release member information outside of the CCI office.
I immediately contacted Mr. Howard when a member forwarded the solicitation email she had received from Mr. Howard on to the Club office.
Mr. Howard apologized for "catching the Club office off guard with this email," stating he had used a customer list he had in his possession.
I then forwarded both my email to Mr. Howard and Mr. Howard's email response to me, directly on to CCI President Hoadley for his consideration.
Again, I can assure you that keeping your member information inside this club business office is of great importance to us. CCI Has Not and Will Not release member information outside of the CCI Office.

Thanks for posting this, it's enough for me. I'm a newer CCI member, and have not received the email. If I did, I would delete it.
If I find a group I belong to 'on purpose', marketing or giving out my info. I comment directly to that group. If I don't like the answer, I leave that group. I also use several 'spamable' email addresses, and don't use my personal email address when joining groups.
Sure, don't like getting the kind of emails sent by Jim, but they don't bother as much as the marketing phone calls coming in - and now of course, we have the fun of a few hundred political robo-calls per week...:)!
Best to all, and use your delete and move on. If someone did do something on purpose and we can prove it - so what? Other then saying we don't like it, we're not going to stop it...

The communication from Ms. Fanning makes sense. It seems those of us who are members of CCI, but bought used have not received the mailing. We must all remember that prior to close of the factory and turning over assets and equipment to the Bankrkuptcy Trustee, all of the Howards had access to information regarding Country Coach purchasers. There is nothing to prevent them from putting whatever of that information they were able to convert to themselves to use for their own benefit.

Seem to making a big deal out of nothing, how many Good Sam and FMCA emails do you get each week? I must average 5 per week trying to sell me something. We belong to CCI and purchased our 2008 allure #31619 at the factory. We didn't receive the email. I know CC had our email because we had many back/forth emails regarding changes, and then warranty work. I read the board, and most junk emails as they come in, maybe 250 per day. Seems I learn something from each and everyone.
Guess this thread has taught me how little it takes for some people to complain about something. Should of spent 2007 with me at the chemo center and the radiation treatment center for 16 weeks. Took 9 months to recover, early 2008 we purchased our allure after I received my cancer free scans.
Enjoy everyday and find a reason to smile. Were are all blessed to be able to see this great county, an enjoy one of the finest MH every build. Now if we can toss out the trash next Tuesday, it will be a great day.
One of my employees 57 year old husband died in his sleep Sunday night leaving her and 3 teenage kids. Life is way to short to get piss off over a single email, regardless of where it came from.

Congrats on the good scan. I love your attitude. My best friend is 47 and had a heart attack last Thursday and died before the defibrillated him 4 times and got him going again. He's not overweight and is extremely active in great health until this. I agree with you, don't sweat the small stuff and just about everything is small stuff.
I bought my old rig last year wanting to take my mom around this old country a little but lost her last April before getting to go anywhere with her. Maybe next year my wife and I will be able to make it to a rally or two and meet a few of you.

We're really sorry about your mom's death and not getting to take her anywhere in the motor home. Your plan was a great one! Re your best friend, unless this is already known by his family, please make sure you let his kids know that they need to get to a doc and find out the state of their cardiac system as sometimes cardiac arrest can mean the same tough situation awaits the kids. Kevin, we're the ones who mentioned the construction zone in Tulsa about 6 weeks ago! We'll be back that way in a month or two.

Mike, thank you very much for writing this for all of us. It really does make us know what counts and what doesn't. And congratulations for your cancer free scans!! If your 57 year old employee died as a result of cardiac arrest, the same advice for his kids applies too. We lost a friend of ours here who was in great shape, 56 years old, working out on his treadmill, and died of cardiac arrest. Several of his friends are doctors, and they all suggested our friend's two kids have their cardiac health checked out.

We hope we have the opportunity to meet both of you!

I also recieved this marketing ploy, I thought it was a joke, like Bernie Madoff asking his x-clients for more money from jail. Jim Howard, whoops, I mean "Doctor" Howard (BA HA HA HA) obviously recieved the list of owners from his son Matthew. The apple does not fall far from the tree... Then he contacted his other son, Jason "Amnesia" Howard who loaned him part of his $50,000.00 commision he forget he received days later (while in bankruptcy) for postage. I used my letter for toilet paper. The nerve some people have. This campground should be in chapter 7 soon enough. tic toc tic toc

I whole heartedly concur with Mike Spinetti's comments on the ongoing Mr. Howard's e-mail.
