Microwave/Convection Oven

My better half (Barbara) wants to know best way to clean our grundgy microwave/convection oven. I don't have a clue. Instructions just say to use soapy water. It's not that easy. Thanks in advance.

Dennis, actually it's easier.

Put a small bowl of water in the microwave. Run the microwave for 1-2 minutes to heat the water. Leave the door closed for 5-10 minutes. the hot moist water vapors will soften the splatters. Wipe the inside with a cloth.

You're done.

We've had good luck with the Mr. Clean scrubber pads. White sponge like pads. I used to clean the very hard to clean ceramic turntable in the conv. micro. Took off all the grunge but didn't mark the surface. Also works very well on the stainless steel sinks if you have those.

Steam clean by boiling some water in a Pyrex glass. Makes cleaning much easier.

i use baking soda - take wet (hot water) paper towel, dip it in baking soda and scrub - cleans everything - wipe b. soda off with hot clean water to get rid of dry white residue left by the baking soda. better than any chemical.
