Fire detection

After talking to Dean Ansely it is to late to control the fires after is has been fanned by the wind etc. I read that someone was asking about a fire suppression system. What I was wondering if there is a fire detection system. Say several sensors that would be located by the brakes, tires, engine room. All set for temperature, so that if a fire did break out you could stop and have some chance of putting it out. I have seen fires from dripping transmission oil which I once help put out with a small fire extinguisher.
I would not want this system tied to any existing on board electronics, just a alarm, light and sensors. Also we should think about a to go bag, so that medical supplies, money and valuables are at the ready if you must leave the coach in a hurry. I once had a safe, but after listening to Dean I am not sure I would use it now. I have my wallet, computer by the front, but do not have medication, or other papers. I will post what I learn but I can not see it being to hard of a task to sense fire, getting it out would be the issue. I believe that the sooner the fire is detected, the smaller the issue, the greater your chance for a favorable out come. Just my opinion would love to hear others.

Hi Jim,

Mark at Rvcruzer.com has some interesting info and he installed both a suppression and notification system. We are looking for more information too and will post whatever we can find.
He also has posted a few links in an article he wrote a few years back.

Mac The Fire Guy has some good information too.

Will keep looking..
