A note to the person who posted the front tire picture.
I attended a CCI rally many years ago and had a front tire that had the same wear pattern. It was not alignment.
The second band of tread in from the outside edge was depressed about 1/8th inch.
Les Schwab tire experts advised that it was no big deal. put them on the rear as front tires don't get scuffed like rear tires and there is nothing to worry about.
On the way home from an extended trip from the west that tire blew appart leaving only a small rig of rubber near the rim. All the steel cords were gone. I won't get into the additional; damage .
The tire was defective and looked exactly like the posted picture.

I had two Goodyear G159s blow apart in a similar fashion after moving them to the inside duel position.

I had the same issue and was lucky enough to make it from Temple Texas to ElPaso for a replacement. I bought retreaded Michelin, that got me to Oregon, where I bought a full set of Michelins. That's why I replaced the Toyo's at 4.5 years of age and 35,000 miles. The Michelins are now 2.5 years old with 30,000 miles and look like new. TWI 2004 intrigue 11731

I posted that picture of my front tire. I had just bought the rig and I did not check the tires very closely until I had it in the shop getting all the fluids replaced. The front end alignment was off a bit and the shocks were set on the 1st click, (I moved them to the third click). This explained the the bottoming out affect and pull to one side and vibration. With the new balanced Michelin XZE's on the front a week later, no more problem. This tire had only 23,000 miles on it.

I guess that's what makes a horse race.[/b]I have TOYOs on my '04 Inspire (built in '03). 67,000 miles on the original tires and they are just now starting to show the tiny cracks on the sidewall.
It took me four days and more calls than I can count to finally locate replacements which will not be here until January 1st. Had Michelins on my last coach (SOB). You'll never take away my TOYOs (and I saved $1,428, $397 each installed vs $635 for the Michelins).
Take care of your tires with proper inflation and UV protectent and they'll be fine. Obviously, there is always bound to be a clunker in the group, even with Michelins.
