2000 Allure #30553 backup camera problem

Yahoo Message Number: 66052
I am having backup camera problems. It has the Intec car vision system in it. The model# of the monitor is CVM550 and the camera is CVC112. I've isolated the problem down to the camera. I have some questions. Has anyone removed the camera from the rear of the coach? If so, did it push through to the outside or come to the inside of the coach? How does the frame on the outside of the coach come off? Does anyone have a good source for a replacement camera. I tried Intec and they dont have them. I'd appreciate any help. Thank you

Ken

Ken,

My INTEC back up camera also failed a couple years ago and since the coach was still under a service agreement which partially covered the cost if performed in a repair facility, I had the system replaced at Guaranty in J.C.
Since Intec no longer makes the original system, my service agreement required me to replace with another (as close to original) B/W system which still cost me $900. I wouldn't recommend doing this.
Since that time I have found color systems, suitable for motorhomes, at Car Toys and other vendors for less than what I payed for the B/W.
Also, access to your camera is through the small panel in the back wall of your cabinets above the bed.

I have an Intec camera (black and white) in my storage shed and it should be a replacement for yours. I also have a replacement window for the door in the same vintage Allure or Intrigue if anyone is interested in it. You may contact me at 949-233-6244 if you would like or daleford1944@....
