Update on Cummins ISC Belt Tensioner

Fellow ISC and M11 owners. This has been passed around before. I as a retired Cat Tech I removed the Tensioner as the coach has 75k miles. Old Bearing feels good to touch not binding but a few weeks ago a fellow owner brought this up. I went ahead and bought a new one P/N CUM3976831 here in Yuma. Price is 117.94, they charged me fright as I did not want a frieght charge anyho. The reason I replaced it as the coach is a 98 engine as per Parts Book on a 99 model year coach. A Large rubber washer/spacer was rotted and a space is now between the Engine mount and the Pully end of the tensioner. I will upload photos hopfully as this will be my first time. Both ends have no cracks but SOB owners of mine have had cracks on older engines with higher miles. After installing the new tensioner I started the engine and checked that the belt is on correctly, Then ran it for a short time. Pully is still bouncing back and fourth as with the old one. Shut down engine and all is cool temp wise. This spring when back on the road at rest stops will put on a heat gun and check temp. Just wanted to share this. Next project changing out Power Tech generator fuel lines, Oil and Fuel filters and oil on Engine and Generator. Ken 99 Allure 30356

Thanks for the info Ken. Just wondering, have you picked out what fuel lines you're going to use? I am looking for some replacement fuel lines for my Hurricane heater and gen and saw this: http://www.discountmarinesupplies.com/Trident_Barrier_Lined_Type_A1_Fuel_Hose.html Cost about $80 for 50' roll. I saw some much more expensive hose online, but not sure it's nessessary.

Hi and thanks for the reply,I plan on NAPA but a hose made for diesel fuel. Working at Cat our hose shop always made up hoses for me. If NAPA cant help then off to Cat. Ken 99 allure 30356
