Slide Room Awning Blow Out Protection

Team,

Has anyone purchased and installed the Stainless Steel Angle Devices manufactured by Greg Standley in Junction City, OR.? If so what size screws and distance apart did you use? Also did you use the 3M double side tape during installation?

Thanks, Mike

No, I did not send him the $100 cash, as he would only take cash, no credit cards, and would not even estimate any freight costs - wanted another 50 to cover that, and told me he was not particularly interested in selling them to any one unless he put them on. I took him at his word and decided not to do business with him. I went to the local sheet metal shop, bought 12gauge stainless steel four foot long sections, bent into right angles with 3" on one side and 5" on the other. Drilled four holes in the deflectors and into the coach, bought SS number 12 x 1and1/4 flat head machine screws, and used silicone instead of 3m tape and installed them myself, one from the center forward, and one from the center aft, leaving room for the strap in the center. Had had no trouble since installation and the cost was only $27 for everything. You don't need the entire length of the awning I found out.
Eight foot deflection in the center works just fine.
