Slide-Out Locks?

Yahoo Message Number: 5022
On the specs sheet for the 03 Allure, under "Slide-Out Special Features", it states:

"Travel lock automatically engages when room extension hardware is fully retracted"
OH, really?

The book says to hold an additional 5 seconds after the slide is in, to "equalize the corners" or something like that.
I have been holding the key until you can hear the hydraulics start to whine, and then release it. (About 2-3 seconds) On the living room slide, on two occasions, it has moved out a half inch to one inch when traveling.
Anyone have similar problems?

Is there really a "Travel Lock", and if so, does it take that long for it to engage?

How long do you hold the key?

Welcome to the world of CC and mystification...Yes do hold the slide out switch for 3-5 seconds both when extending the slides as well as when you bring them in. As far as the room extending on its own that has been known to happen. Supposed to be caused by leaking solenoid valves and since your unit is a new 03 I would get those solenoid valves replaced for free before your warranty ends. I have a 2000 Allure so have to pay for the valves...HWH has assured me that the room will not walk out more than 3 inches on its own...Mike 2000 Allure.

Bill, I only hold mine 2 or 3 seconds, too. From the sound of the pump you would think it would burn up the motor to hold it longer. I haven't experienced the movement you describe, so I assume it is locking properly.

Following the procedures in the manual we have never had a problem with our 2 slides. Infact from what I've seen these slides fit and work better then any in the industry. I love the fact that you don't need to do any locking once the slide is in and our slides have never moved when driving. I do have the slides serviced at Lazy Days

about once a year and I use a slide treatment on my rubber from time to time.

Thanks for the replys.

I'll talk with CC today about it.

I still wonder about the "Travel lock".
