12w halogen bulbs

Frustrated over trying to replace 12W Halogen bulbs. Is there an easy way to insert the new bulb? Keep bending the prongs and can't seem to insert them into the holes. Any tricks to easier insertion?

They are a pain but if you use latex gloves it helps you get a better grip.
You don't want to handle them with your bare hands as the oil reduces their life. So I have told.

Marc, yes it is challenging, especially with my fat fingers in small places.
I hold the bulbs at the head end with the plastic wrap the bulb comes in, its not slippery. I hold the bulb so the prong pair is parallel to the ceiling and use a small flash light in the other hand to provide good light and try for the best eye line of sight. Once the prongs are partially in (the bulb should say in place) I let go and push on the head with the plactic over my finger.

Rap them with an alcohol socked tissue available at a drug store for cleaning skin The bulb must be cleaned with alcohol to get the best life Bob 06 intrigue 12047

Yes, those are all very good suggestions. I might add one more, from personal experience . . . "Make certain the switch is off" !!!!!!!!!!

I always use a latex glove. It not only keeps my finger from touching the bulb it also give me a firm grip so it can be inserted correctly.
