Question on Camping Clubs | Thousand Trails, Encore, etc.

Would like some opinions as to 'are these things worth it now?' Specifically, ReadyCampGo
Over the years, Encore, Equity, Thousand Trails have adjusted their business models by offering 'packages' using ReadyCampGo as an aggregator. You pick an annual package, e.g.,:

$49 for 15 nights at $25 per night, or $99 for 30 nights at $20 per night, $199 for 60 and $299 for 90 nights.
All are subject to availability at 'participating' parks, and packages are sold covering US Geographic zones (NE, SE, NW, SW).
So, the question(s) are: (1) How many parks really participate; (2) Which zones are better covered, etc. (3) Reservation hassles, and the like.
Anybody have experiences, opinions, recommendations? Am I leaving something out?

Bill, it depends on how you are going to use the membership. If you are like us, and stay on the road 5-6 months out of the year, it might be worth it. If you travel a few weeks here and there, probably not. It seems that the best deal going right now is Passport America. You buy the book for 40 bucks or so and then you can use the parks listed. The limiting factor is the length of stay you can get.

Go to their websites to see locations and different programs.
Then compare to your travel habits.
Then come back and ask more specific questions.

I like our Thousand Trails National membership. We can stay up to two weeks at each of their parks. But, you must be out of their system for a week between visits to another thousand Trails park. We were staying at their affiliate, Resorts of Distinction parks for the in-between week.....
However, I tried to make a reservation at an ROD park last Friday unsuccessfully. I was told that my home park (Whalers Rest, South Beach, OR) is no longer affiliated with ROD. No previous notification; no grace period; just an abrupt rejection. I am still trying to find out what is going on!
This screwed up a perfect summer plan in Oregon & Washington for this summer. To say that I am upset would be a very mild description of my present state of mind!
Has this happened to anyone else on our forum? Do you have any additional information? If so, please respond ASAP.

We have had a Tousand Trails regional membership for two years now. Ours is that you can stay two weeks and then out a week. Or up to four days. Free. The key is if you use their parks. If you do it is a good value, in not, not. As I still work and we do not RV more than about 6-7 weeks a year we tend to stay in the park we want to stay if and not which is cheapest. Also, the TT parks are both good and so so. The ones we have stayed in tend to be OK. Also, they have a limited number of parks. Certainly not everywhere. So I guess on a scale of 1-10 10 being really happy I would say we are a 5. I sort of reupped our membership this year as sending TT a check is a vicarious way to camp out more. We belong so we "could" travel more.
If we were to suddenly camp six months of the year I might change my tune as we have a couple of really nice parks in our area / San Diego - Pio Pico, Oakzanita, Idlewild are very nice parks. A little faded, but still amenity loaded places. We stayed for a week at Monroe Washington last year and it was that way too. Amenity rich and a VERY nice spot, but a bit faded too.
One VERY possitive thing I want to say about Thousand Trails is that the people we have met running their parks have really been friendly and cheerful and helpful. They get a 10 out of a possible 10 on that.

You are spot on.

You might also want to try Wilderness Lakes in Menifee. We like it better than the San Diego parks.
