Fellow owners, FYI First of all Happy Mothers Day from our Rig to yours! Before hitting the road I did service Fluids and Filters on Engine and Generator, Had the Exhaust manifold replaced due to a 2 inch crack on larger section top. Found out now I have more pulling power then ever and flat roads our MPG went up to 9.25/mile from 7/8 mpg. Also our group suggested I remove the CC Marketing rear Mud Flap! Towing our Saturn Vue I have no more rocks and dirt on the windshield. I dont use a tow cover on the Vue. Taking I-10 all the way in Texas MM 2 Blew a rear inner duel! Just checked the Tires at a rest stop in New Mexico shortly before the inner duel Blew out! Friends the tires except the driver rear duel's are 05 28 week old! The rear duel tires from the Prev. owner are 03, Toyo and 04 Bridestone! I was very upset to see this. Coach Net came to the rescue with two new Goodyear Comm. Tires less then 6 mo. old. They put on new valve stems also. Have a tire minder temp/pressure waiting to be installed. With that behiend us the only damage was a wheel well mud flap ripped off and a little skin wrinkle. These older Allures are built like tanks! No other damage and have a new Flap installed. Rest of the trip went well. Check out your tires and make sure the rear duels are new and matched!, God was the Co Piolet that day!Next year off to Oregon for new tires! Safe Travels fellow owners! Ken Retired Cat Tech. 99 Allure 30356.

Hi Ken - I've been called a "Muther" before!!
Thanks for the tip on the inner tire. I've seen this before, when looking for our current rig. I always crawled under each rig (pair of old overall's for the crawl, flash light in hand), and two times I had supposedly newer tires all around, with no receipt, and found the inner duals to be older. Each time I found this, I did not take the time to 'thank' the person that wasted my time and money to go look at a rig. I figured if they would lie about this, no reason to trust anything else they say...
Mudflap free? Do you, or others, have opinions on the non solid guards? Our old Bounder had the brush type Rockguard, and did not toss the rock/sand up on the toad as much as this solid one? Thoughts?

Glad you made it safe, and good MPG!!!

Best,
Smitty
