Tire Environment Monitoring Design

Hi Coach Owners,

Research in the formula car racing industry indicates that tire temperature is the better indicator of tire condition.
Several approaches have been developed employing infrared camera and passive infrared sensors. All are contactless and nothing is installed on the tire. This is a big advantage over the products that are sold today.
Googling "infrared sensors for tire monitoring" will result in a plethora of products, both systems and sensors ? the better ones are made for the racing industry.
My next project is to install non-contact sensors or camera with remote temperature display and data logging for a tire and road pavement leading to adaptation of new technology tire monitoring products to the RV environment at a reasonable price.

Temperature may be better, but is it going to tell me that a dingy tire blew up, or that they forgot to put air in my inside dual on a new tire?
I also doubt that a non contact sensor is going to be easier to install than an over sized valve stem cap.

Just my 2 cents.
