Trivial question - Clocks

I want a 110v alarm clock I can put on the dresser and read at night. I bought a Timex alarm but it doesn't work properly because it doesn't like the clipped sine wave from the inverter.

Does anyone have a brand or model suggestion that they know works?

I use my cell phone for an alarm. Works great
