Trap door for engine access

Yahoo Message Number: 72612
My mechanic suspected I had an exhaust manifold issue - gasket or cracked manifold (ISC 350 Cummins - apparantly a common issue). He asked me to show him the access door from the bedroom. Having never seen the access door I assumed it was under the bed. After 7 years of ownership I never had reason to access the engine and since this was my first MH I did'nt even think about it. I raised the bed no door. CC carpeted over it!!!! After a few hours with my multi-tool I now have a visible access panel. I'm curious, do other models have a noticeable access?

Hi Steve,

The access door for our engine is noticable in our bedroom. Bias tape around the edges of the carpet and large screws. Nicely finished.
