Glue-on thermometers

Just a heads-up for those who like the large stick-on circular thermometers available at Camping World, among others--we have two of them.

We saw a 99 Affinity last week in Gilroy. The thermometer had been stuck to one of the windows with the metallized coating, and the coating had come off with the thermometer when it was removed. We leave ours on the drivers window, and the door, which does not have the coating.

My window did the same thing in a small area about 1/2"x2". Does anyone know if the coating can be repaired?

-The coating cannot be repaired. The good part is the windows are under warranty. At one time SI-GI, the mfg warranteed them for two years, that warranty was extended to three because the windows were becoming unsealed. (You can check for unsealing by looking at the gasket between the two panes of glass. If you can see any creeping or any daylight underthe seal, the window is unsealed.) You can check the date code on the window to see how old it is and call SI-GI if you don't want to deal with CC. SI=GI is located in southern CA in Norco.

Do you have a phone number or email address for SI-GI? I cannot find any web site from them.

Sorry - for the partial reply. We also have a window problem with SE-GI and when I contacted them direct, I was told we had to go through CC. In our case John Bickel. (Not sure if he is still there!!)
SE-GI Products, Inc. is located at 1900 Second Street, Norco, CA 92860. Phone is 909 737-8320. Fax is 909 737-3786.

Hope this helps.

Get a wireless thermometer from Radio Shack. Tape a sensing unit outside in the LP bay, put one in the frig and put the main unit in the coach. Then you don't need the suction cup type at all and you can monitor the outside temp, the inside temp. and the frig. It's great.
