Echocharge

Had an interesting situation I wanted to share. Was having trouble keeping the chassis batteries charged. After some misleading symptoms ( weak cell in one batt), I managed to remember the ecocharge. Got out the manual and checked it out. Green lite on indicating normal operation, fuses good. Then I checked the output with my multimeter and found no charging voltage. Found a new one online and problem solved. The interesting thing was that it looked perfect but was dead as a doornail, so it's something to check if you're having starting battery problems.

Had a similar situation with mine; green light on and fuses good; checked output and good there, but the wires where the unit attached were corroded, so very little charge actually getting to the batteries due to the poor connection/corrosion. When I tugged on the connecting wires, one connector completely fell off. Replaced both connectors and unit functioning correctly and chassis batteries remain charged now.
