Air-Purge Switch

Have an air-purge switch on front panel above dash, passenger side. I have pushed switch w/engine on and off. Doesn't seem to do anything? No lighting of switch, no sound outside? I think this is the air-suspension purge? If not working, how should I purge the air from system? Thanks

Hi,

In my 01 Affinity, that switch (I think) purges moisture from the air tanks. Vent is right in front of the drive axel on the passenger side. Only works with engine running. I push the switch, and can hear air vent from the tanks. If it doesn't work, you will need to find out why, and repair it or excessive water condensate will accumulate in the air tank and lines.
Luck,
Bob

The air purge is for the accessory/auxiliary air tank and should be purged often. The aux tank is the one feeding all the air accessories and suspension.

How does one purge the air bags? i have a 02 Magna, some times after leveling the pump will come on every 1/2 hr or so, and sometimes not at all.

Is there a way to purge it manually? I notices two small release valves (one in front & 1 @ pass.rear - under batt. area) w/yellow handles...when I turn either, no air escapes?
Could this cause the left-front to lean abit? It seems to be leaning 1/2 inch now where it didn't before -

You can dump the air from the air bags by manually using the dump button on the leveling system.

IN MY ORIG MESSAGE...I DIDN'T KNOW HOW OR IF AIR PURGE SWITCH WORKED. WELL, THE MANUAL VALVES UNDERNEATH (HAVE YELLOW HANDLES) WERE TURNED CLOSED. THAT'S WHY SWITCH DIDN'T APPEAR TO WORK. W/MAN VALVES OPEN, ENGINE RUNNING OR KEY ON, PUSHING AIR PURGE SWITCH WORKS GREAT! ALWAYS SOMETHING TO LEARN -
