Transmission oil transfer to hydraulic system

During our 8,000 mile trip this summer the transmission was reporting low oil, about 1 gallon total.
The hydraulic system gained all of it over time, with some blowing out over the back of the coach and the tow.
We have about 40,000 on the rig, and the wet pump kit is installed on the transmission.
My dealer says such a tansfer is not possible, that someone must have overfilled the hydraulic system. That would be me, and I didn't.
And ideas would be greatly appreciated.

I have been investigating the fitting of a PTO 'wet kit' in light of the failures posted eslewhere on the forum
Both Parker Hannifin (make the Chelsea Parker PTO) and Dynamtics (which now make the Sauer Danfoss hydraulic pump which bolts to the PTO) strongly recommended that I ENSURE that the hydraulic pump input shaft (the one that runs in the transmission oil of the PTO) has a DOUBLE (Duplex) seal
Both engineers with whom I spoke stressed the need to check the double seal and warned not to fit the 'wet kit' if only a single seal as it is possible for the pressure in the PTO will push transmission fluid past the single seal and into the hydraulic oil of the Danfoss pump - slowly but eventually emptying the transmission if the level is not regularly checked
My investigations lead to believe that it is a double seal on the input shaft of the hydraulic pump - but the seal warnings I received mirror your symptoms
If it helps, the hydraulic pumps are built to order over here in Swindon in the UK - there is a 6 week lead time - White House Products of Glasgow, Scotland are the distributors I will be ordering my pump from if I find the input shaft splines chewed when I split it from the PTO - ((even taking into account the exchange rate I cannot get the cost of a pump up to anything like some of the prices being charged on your side of the pond for a replacement pump - you might want to consider ordering direct if this is identified as your problem)

this will probably sound real dumb but I am a new owner of a coach and wondering if all diesel coach have a PTO. If so where is it located

Hello everyone, I figured it was time to chime in before this goes to long.
When we look at the installation of the PTO wet kit remember there is a 1.2 psi restri that we need to be sure is in the line prior to entering the new flange assembly.
Some of you may remember there was a concern early on about someone that had the kit installed with out this restrictor.
Another thing to remember is the pressures that the HYD systems run at are much higher than this 1.2 psi. It would seem odd that the 1.2 psi would push past the system under normal operating conditions.
This 1.2 psi restrictor was put into the system to reduce any possability of fluid cross contamination.
