Compudigital Dash

Anybody have experience or knowledge? The dash was offered as an option on CC bus conversions. Are they problem prone?

I don't know about CC's Compudigital dash ... but I heard that ... not too many years ago, when GM installed digital dashes in Corvettes, Corvette owners whose digital dashes "went bad" ended up with repair bills over $2K.
Corvettes now have mainly analog instruments.

-TIM: I just returned from Prevost in Ft. Worth. They had a brand new 04 CC Prevost in there that had the same dash your asking about. This coach was an electronic marvel that had part of one bay dedicated to nothing but systems to run all the gadgets including that dash. They expressed concerns about who would be qualified to work on those systems and of course the ultimate cost to fix all those systems as they fail. Could be a black hole for money. Nice coach though!!!

Is this the digital dash that costs about $10,000?
I seem to have trouble reading LCD's with my Polaroid sunglasses, so you may want to check out that aspect if it applies.

Yes it is. I believe is a computer based system running DOS operating system for dash board display.

The early version of the Compudigital dash was built by Country Coach.

Since 2003, the current digital dash is built by Silverleaf. I have a few out there, 2 in Lexa's and 1 in a Magna. They did have a fuel level guage issue which required a new chip, all 3 of my owners did the labor themsleves, it was a fairly easy plug in deal. Other than the fuel gauge "chip" they have been great.

Hi,

Our neighbor, in Titusville, FL had a 2001 Affinity with the all digital dash. He was very unhappy with the coach and the digital dash was a major issue. I heard recently that he has just traded the coach for another brand. If you want more info on his dash problems, I'll see him again this fall when we're back in FL.

Our 1998 CC Prevost Conversion has the Compudigital Dash AND the built-in GPS system on the dash. If memory serves me correct the total extra was something like $12-13K extra. It's really neat.
They are 2 separate systems sharing the same computer cabinet in the cabinet behind the driver seat. The engine dash system was just upgraded this past winter with new software, that I did myself with support from CC. I questioned the possibility of problem with the engine TV screen as my "gauges." BTW it is NOT a LCD screen, it is a flat-screen panel and not a problem with polarized glasses. It was pointed out to me that the Detroit Series 60 sends digital information forward to the Prevost original dash and if there was a Detroit problem it would be a problem for either Prevost's dash OR the Country Coach Compudigital. I have had no problem with the CC Compuditigal Dash since we had it made new in 1998. I have seen the Silverleaf and feel it is a great replacement for the CC dash and if necessary I would replace my CC system with the Silverleaf, if it ever crashed and was not repairable.
