Chassis Stress

Just learning..new to Country Coach 2002 Allure 40 ft and recently encountered a not so nice phenomena. Unit has air leveling/air ride. Pulled into my site in Tucson and proceeded to set up the leveling process. Site looked OK but was out of level diagonally to the coach. Had to add a few leveling blocks to one corner and the unit was then able to level. On site for approx. 2 months and the front compartment door wouldn't open without serious prying. This fact plus a couple of stress cracks in the slide-out frame corners that the previous owner could not explain and bingo....this frame will twist. I since releveled the coach and the front compartment door is normal. It appears that there are limits to the leveling capability if you want to avoid "chassis stress". My guess is that front to back and side to side out of level is OK but beware how much you push the system with an out of level diagonally. Anybody with a similar experience?

There are a few parks I frequent where the ground looks stable, but is not. So for the first 48 hours I leave the auto leveling function on while settling takes place. After that I check it every Monday and Thursday, including air pressure in the main and aux air systems.. Only parks with concrete pads sites do I forget about leveling checks. I have owned an Allure and own an Intrigue, 42', and the clearance tolerances on the Aluminum doors of the Allure are much closer than on the fiberglass doors of the Intrigue. I've never had a door binding problem caused by rubbing, but had to adjust a latch or two when new on both coaches. TWI 2004 intrigue 42' 11731
