Suddenly encountered hard starting

Coach has always started in a couple of turn of the starter. The last time I started was about a month ago. Today it would not start with continued cranking 15 sec or more. Finally got a short run then died. Tried several more times and it finally started, ran like normal, let it run for to recharge the batteries. Shut it down and when restarting it took maybe 5 second of cranking then started. Started it several times with the same results.
Something changed since I ran it last.
This is a C8.3 C6CTA 325hp mechanical engine. Looking for ideas.

First thing I would do is change fuel filters. Maybe slim as increased in one of them. Something is causing a fuel shortage. Could be an air leak, a pump getting weak or many other things, but a fuel filter is the first thing to change. Other thing to check, is to watch the engine fuel shut of solenoid valve. Have someone turn the key while you watch to see if it is making full travel. Might clean the wire connectors for it.

fuel filters, punctured or leaky fuel line, lift pump, accumulator pump on the injection pump. Contaminated fuel.

When that happened to me, it was the lift pump. Check your filters first, and if that is not it, disconnect the fuel line from the lift pump to the filter. Get a bucket, have someone hold the line in the bucket and turn on the ignition. If fuel is not robustly coming out of the hose, your lift pump is bad.

Fuel filters as previously mention could be changed.
Check that the Fuel Solenoid lever is raising and holding when the ignition switch is turned.

It could be the mechanical fuel pump failing.
If the mechanical fuel pump fails, it could then take out the injection pump (very expensive).

So, do as I say, not as I did. Get it resolved quickly.

Well a followup on my hard starting problem. When to the coach this morning to get some manuals. For kicks I thought I would try to start the engine. Lo and behold it started NORMALLY, the temperature was it was a little cool this morning (mid 40's).

Thanks for all the input I'll report back if the problem returns.
