Hydro Hot Fuel Lines

Has anyone changed the fuel lines to Hydro-Hot on a 2004 allure. Your help is appreciated.

Close...just did it on a 2003 Allure with a Hurricane heater. What type of help is it you're looking for?

I have changed the fuel lines to my generator myself and I expect that the HydroHot lines would be a similar exercise.
I have a 40 ft 2004 Allure and in the front wall of the front access bay you should see 2 or 3 access panels held in place with screws and grommets. Removing the panels will give you free access to the top of the fuel tank. I found a diagram in the manuals that helped me identify which hoses go to which units.
I removed the old hose connections at the generator and the fuel tank, there are two (a feed line and a return line). The feed line is usually bigger in diameter than the return line. If you cut off a couple of feet of the old line you can read the diameter printed on the hose.
I bought what I estimated to be more than enough hose to reach. I made no attempt to feed the new lines up into the frame like the old ones but rather select a different easier route that allowed me to tie wrap the new hoses securely in place. Been fine for 5 years.

If your fuel line fittings on the tank are like mine, you will, apart from a considerable amount of patience, need:

- a svelte arm to reach out far enough (not too chubby, or it won't fit between the chassis and the tank) - the ability to work with one hand most of the time while NOT looking at what you're doing as your head is turned away in an effort to lengthen your arm - a screw driver to undo the hose clamps - a cutter to cut the fuel line lengthwise off the barb connectors in order to get the line off - DO ONE FUEL LINE AT A TIME (to avoid mixing them up when reinstalling) - remove the ceilings in the cargo bays - cut the hose you are working on about 2ft before it enters the Hurricane bay (catch fuel in suitable container) - pull out the fuel line part that is now loose.
- attach your new fuel line to the piece of 2ft line still in the bay. Now you can use a helper.
- feed the new line into the Hurricane bay by pulling on the old line. The new fuel line will not feed through easily. Wriggle it until it does. Don't pull so hard as to detach it from the new line though, or the feed ing through will become a real challenge.
- once the new line is connected to the Hurricane, install the rest in the ceilings and feed through the front bay wall to above the tank.
- connect the fuel line to the tank

I used 19' length of fuel line for each run. That is ample. 18' will probably do it but I wanted to be sure there were no tight bends and I put in 2 service loops as well.

On this forum there are many people far more experienced than I am, so I hope you get some other views as well.

That sounds better than on my 2003 Allure. No panels to access the top of the tank on mine.

Btw both my Hurricane fuel lines (feed and return) were the same diameter.
