Hard starting

My '98 Intrigue's Cummins engine just developed a new problem - on cold or warm starts it won't start unless I hold down on the throttle. I don't have to press down to much more than a fast idle position before the engine fires up, but I know it's not right.

Has anyone else had the same problem with their Cummins? I'm hoping there might be something I can take care of myself before I surrender to the Cummins shop in San Leandro CA.

Any suggestions would be welcome
