Mobile Lifestyle Praise

Hi - I know this news group centers around information directly relating to CC model issues, parts, service, problem resolution and knowledge sharing. That said, I do from time to time see discussions of travel, activities and destinations undertaken by those using a CC vehicle to enhance those experiences. For all the faults, repairs and problems we see go by here daily we all manage to keep rolling along somehow fueled by a desire to explore at whatever level is appropriate and comfortable. It's the mobile aspect of this lifestyle that gives us range and direction with a spontaneity unmatched by any other travel method I know of. Perhaps I'm preaching to the choir as it were. Whether you travel full time or not I guess we all have a love of this lifestyle and the mobility that it offers. It seems to me that "mobility" is the most fundamental bonding agent that keeps this group together. How better than to embrace the age old concept of community all orchestrated in unique ways by technology.

Jeannie and I started "shacking" up in our bus full time in May of 2008 after we dumped the house. It was time to transition. After tidying up some loose ends and winding down a few other things we hit the road full time in Sept 2008 to embark on travel and exploration. For us (39 years now) we've always enjoyed traveling and exploring. Before 9/2008, we had to do it as long weekends and/or in annual weekly vacations. For us the bus is merely an access tool that allows us to transport base camp around to the areas of interest. We usually remain in one place for months at a time to allow us to drill down into the culture and take in the activities. That's just our scene and I'm sure many here are having a different experience. But that's the beauty of this lifestyle. It can be tailored in so many ways to suit individual preferences.
We are primarily daytime adventurers meaning we eat a good breakfast, go out for the day and when the sun starts to go down we're both ready to eat a nice dinner. For us, if it isn't a nice weather day we usually delay our adventure until good weather can be had. The goal is always to travel and explore safely. This is a leisure time advocation, not a professional commitment so scheduling things is always very flexible. I'm curious what others do for their adventures. Like the very essence of this group, you can learn a lot from people willing to share their knowledge and experiences.
To that end, I've included a quick little video Jeannie and I slapped together showing an adventure we embarked on. Round trip back to our staging area it took about 5 hours. I hope people get a kick out of it and it adds yet another dimension to how we enjoy this news group and the mobile lifestyle. Content is everything!
