Door Lock Battery

Does anyone have any idea if the electric door lock has it's own battery, besides the one of the key FOB. After turning off the interior electric switch, then the main power switch I could push the button on the key FOB and the lower door lock would lock and I would get that little blinking light. Suddenly it has stopped working if the MH sits for a few days. I changed the battery in the remote, but it still does not work. If I start up the coach, it will work normally. Dave

You might want to check the charge on the chassis batteries. If the chassis batteries are low, it can be the same symptoms you are describing

Dave & Roger, Thanks for the reply... I do think it is some type of Battery problem. Do to the fact that after starting the coach, I can go back outside and the blinking light is working. Trying to understand everything..once I shut down the interior switch and the switch in the battery compartment. This door lock is still connected to the chassis batteries? I'm sure it has a very low draw while on, correct? I thought that maybe where ever the unit is located at, it might have like a rechargeable battery and after 5 years it needs to be changed.

Check the coach electrical schematics to see if the pad is part of the electrical system.
I do not have the keyless entry option on my coach, although I have it on my 2004 F250SD. I checked the Ford manual and it does have a replaceable battery, which I have never replaced. Assuming that CC used an automotive proiduct, it may have a replaceable battery.

Not sure what unit you are referencing, however on my system the door lock (remote) and the bay locks operate off the chassis battery and when I had a problem with my old Echo charger not keeping the chassis batteries charged, the bay locks wouldn't functions pearly as well as the door. I've had my door off and there is no battery that is part of my system other than the chassis. I would go through your procedure (however I'm not understanding why you are shutting down the interior switch and the battery compartment switch) and check the voltage on your chassis batteries. My guess is that you are having a battery problem.

This is all happening while the MH is parked and not being used (Storage).
Since I will be having the MH service in a week, I will make sure they check the Batteries. Thanks

The chassis disconnect sw does not Remove power to the lock system or the Dash radio so the presets are held therefore A separate Charger can be used for the chassis batteries With the bat sw off
