Cat Hydraulic cooling fan (2005 Magna)

Info needed on Hydraulic cooling fan control Module. Where does it get it's power from? Any trouble shooting will be appreciated. Our fan is running all the time (from cold start up). Thanks, Denny Hunt

On my 2000 Magna, the power comes through a fuse on the front run 12 volt panel in the bay under the driver's seat. If you are not getting power, at least on my coach, the fan controller default is to run the fan on high. Those of us that have had fan control problems have disconnected the fan controller to force it to run on high so we don't overheat.

The way I understand it, there are two sources of power. One is 12 volt DC and the other is hydraulic pressure. The 12 volts through yhe fan controller regulates or turn off a spring-loaded-open hydraulic valve to eliminate, or regulate the pressure and cause the fan to stop or slow down. So, if a defective controller doesn't allow the 12 volts to reach the normally open hydraulic valve, the fan runs at full power.
