Replace Villa Captain's Chairs? Anyone done it?

We have a 2001 Intrigue that has only 2-point seatbelts in the front captain's chairs. We'd like to replace them with 3-point seatbelt chairs. Has anyone done it and if so, who did it and at approximately what cost (I know it'll depend on the type of chairs we get). We'll be in OR Oct. and Nov. so that is the most convenient, although we'll be traveling to OR from TX for part of Sept. so can stop anywhere along the way if it sounds worth it.

They are manufactured in Anaheim, Ca at Villa, which is probably the most reasonable cost.

Jan, Have you tried contacting Villa to see what they could or would do? Mike Rameriz is the rep for Villa who takes care of Country Coach and Country Coach owners. His email is: Mike@.... His telephone number is 888-707-7272 or 714-535-7272. Villa International is located in Ahaheim, Ca. and an appointment is required before going there for service. I am pretty sure that Mike will be at the rally in Eugene, also. Mike is a super person and will do what ever he can to help you out (and make you a happy camper!) We have had them do several things for us: repair ultra leather, add heat and vibration to our front captains chairs, modify the seat belts, repad the dinnette bench in our '97 Magna and recover a sofa. Mike has always been super to work with and dealt with our issues. Hope this helps, Candace

We have a 02 Allure with 3-point belts. The way they ours is attached to the seat the waist portion of the belt is much higher than your hips. Not very comfortable or safe.

I am going to see if the Villa rep can help me with this.

(snip) I asked a Villa rep (didn't catch his name) at the Buffalo FMCA Convention about replacing our lap-belt-only '98 Intrigue's seats with ones that also have integral shoulder belts, and he said that he thought the floor might need to be reinforced, therefore I should check with CCI. At first, I couldn't see why, but in retrospect, I think that, in a crash, seats with integral shoulder belts would exert more leverage on the seat mounting than lap-belt-only seats. I'm sure the answer will depend on what CCI says.
I'll look into this in the near future and will report back.

Two other things I'm going to look into to improve crashworthiness:
(1) Securing the two dining table chairs with something better than a bungee cord. I'm open to suggestions.
(2) Securing the rocker/recliner's hoop base with the convenient-to-use clamp that Winnebago Industries uses.
