Pilot - Flying J Merge - Prices

I was not excited about the Pilot acquisition of Flying J. But one good thing is there are more locations to choose from, If you are one who does not mind the Truck Stop Experience, especially when traversing the Midwest. Gas Buddy is a valuable tool in finding the best prices. That does not seem to matter in the Pacific NorthWest where there is a limited (monopoly ??) source of fuel. So, when the rest of the country has fuel prices going down, we've seen 15 to 20 cent jumps over the Memorial Day weekend holiday. The Jerks who operate the refineries know when they close down for maintenance the price will go up to compensate for the short term reduction in volume. That would be a nice business to be in... Very Crappy for the purchasing public...

Diesel is around $4.30/gallon here in Bend, Oregon.. about the same of 87 octane gasoline
